"The relentless pursuit to find all size footwear for urban chic women and the desire to end the bias that is the hallmark of the current footwear industry compelled us to create Zori." - Zori World team

Is Zori World an ethically vegan brand?

Zori World appears to be an intentionally and ethically vegan brand, rather than one that uses vegan materials out of convenience, or for other reasons. According to the brand, one of their core values is being "vegan, cruelty-free."

What materials are used to make Zori World shoes?

Zori World doesn't go too into detail with regard to the materials used to make their shoes, boots, slippers, and sandals, other than to occasionally list a material or two within a product description. We've noticed that the following materials are listed from time to time:
• PU/synthetic leather
• Sequins
• Rhinestones
• Recycled materials (soles of shoes and uppers)

Are Zori World shoes low-impact/eco-friendly/sustainable?

Given that Zori World's vegan shoes are made with PU, they generally wouldn't be considered very environmentally friendly, depending on the specific composition of that PU (for example, a traditionally made fossil fuel-derived PU is much less eco-friendly than a plant oil-derived PU that's solvent-free and uses a recycled polyester backing). Generally speaking, however, vegan leathers are less harmful to the environment than animal-derived leathers - this is backed up by data from inside the fashion industry as well as outside. For the data, please see Collective Fashion Justice’s CIRCUMFAUNA initiative.
Some of their shoes do also include some recycled materials, although it's not clear which materials they are, and in what proportion they're used in which models.

Does production of Zori World shoes create a lot of harmful emissions?

From a carbon footprint standpoint, it's difficult to asses the impact that Zori World has, and what they do to remediate it. The brand does not currently provide data as to their environmental impact or remediation efforts, so it's difficult to accurately asses them in these areas.

Does Zori Wolrld use ‘green’ / ‘low-impact’ shipping methods?

It's unclear from their website if Zori World uses net-zero or negative emissions shipping partners, either domestically or internationally. We’ve asked them for clarification, and are currently awaiting reply.

Does Zori World use eco-friendly/low-impact packaging?

We've reached out to their team to get further details on this, and are awaiting reply.

Are Zori World shoes recyclable?

We've reached out to their team to get further details on this, and are awaiting reply.

How should I dispose of my old Zori World shoes?

We’ve asked the Zori World team if they currently have, or are developing, a shoe recycling program, and are awaiting reply. In the meantime, Get it Vegan recommends either trying to have them repaired by a local cobbler, donating them to someone in need, or taking them to a clothing recycling depot (if available in your city), which can strip them down to their recyclable components.

Which stores can I buy their shoes from?

Zori World shoes can be purchased from their website, and can be shipped to most countries worldwide. We've asked them if they have plans to work with retailers (and if their internationally shipping is available again), and are currently awaiting reply.

Do Zori World shoes ever go on sale?

When we last visited their site, we noticed many styles on sale up to 66% off from their regular listed price. We're not certain if they're actually on sale for a specific reason, or if it's just a marketing tactic.

Where are Zori World's vegan shoes made?

Zori World's vegan shoes, boots, sandals, and slippers are made in India.

Are their shoes made with fair labour?

Being that their shoes are made in India, it's difficult for us as an outside, non-certifying 3rd party to verify whether or not Zori World ensures its factory enforces all international and local labour laws, regulations and fair working standards to provide a safe and fair working environment for their workers. We have reached out to them for clarification on what they do to ensure they are using fair labour, and are currently awaiting reply. It is worth mentioning however, that Zori World is also based in India.

Is Zori World a charitable company?

We’ve asked the Zori World team about any charitable initiatives they're involved with (if any), and are currently awaiting reply, as there is no such information available on their website.

Does Zori World promote ‘slow fashion’ or a ‘circular economy’?

It's unclear how, other than occasionally listing 'recycled materials' in some product descriptions, Zori World follows or promotes the three main principles of circularity (designing out waste and pollution; keeping products and materials in use; and regenerating natural systems).
