Despite having some fun and playful designs in their product catalogue, Beflamboyant takes producing vegan shoes sustainably and ethically very seriously. In fact, they've incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals approved by the United Nations into their business strategy.

Beflamboyant is among the most sustainable shoe brands out there. They've even earned the Ethical Time “Real Sustainable Fashion” seal. Beflambyant is also quite transparent about their sustainability efforts - they have partnered with sustainability platform BCOME to do thorough eco impact studies of what they sell, and publish that info on their website for each of their shoes.

Does Beflamboyant use sustainable packaging?

Yes - their sneakers are packed in a recycled and recyclable cardbox, free of plastic and labels, and come with a jute toteback, both ready to be used and live a new life! They also include a plantable thank you card.

Is Beflamboyant a charitable brand?

Beflamboyant collaborates with the One Tree Planted organization - for every pair of sneakers sold, Beflmaboyant plants a tree in California (a region heavily devastated by wildfires during the past years).

Beflamboyant shoes are handmade in Portugal by Jovan Shoes, a 'white labeler' shoe make with a team of more than 100 craftspeople.

Are Beflamboyant shoes made using fair labour?

Yes - with their factory being located in Portugal, their manufacturing employees are protected by the stringent labour laws of the European Union. This ensures they receive a fair wage, as well as work in safe and healthy conditions. Just for good measure, their factory has the SMETA certificate, which considers the health and security, labour standards, work environment and business ethics of the operation.

What are Beflamboyant shoes made of?

Beflamboyant uses a variety of eco and animal-friendly materials from Italian, Portuguese and Spanish suppliers. They use such materials as recycled ocean plastic, recycled PET, corn crop waste, recycled corn husks, recycled rice husks, bamboo, and recycled cotton. Their removable insoles are made from 100% recycled foam with active carbon of vegetable origin, and their soles are composed of thermoplastic rubber (a 100% recyclable material). Their glue is water-based, and their shoe laces are OCS (Organic Content Standard) organic cotton and recycled PET.
