About Collection & Co. Vegan Shoes
Founded in 2016 with the aim of transcending the need for leather, Collection & Co. ethically makes their shoes in Greece, and is always looking for ways to become more environmentally friendly.
Are Collection & Co. shoes eco-friendly?Somewhat, it seems. They certainly make an effort to reduce their environmental impact by incorporating recycled and up-cycled materials, including for some of their faux-leather, as well as re-using leftover materials from past production runs for their shoes. They also use the innovative pineapple-derived leather alternative, Piñatex, in some of their models. The soles of most, if not all, of their shoes are made from natural rubber. Some of their shoes do contain new vegan patent leather and microsuede, which generally aren't considered environmentally friendly (although more environmentally friendly than animal-derived leather and suede).
Do Collection & Co. follow a 'slow fashion' method? In addition to their regularly stocked items, Collection & Co. does offer some items for sale via pre-order, which is among the hallmarks of slow fashion. Their products are also made in limited quantities in a small, family-run factory in Greece.
Does Collection & Co. use sustainable packaging?Yes! Fortunately, they use recyclable packaging and compostable mail bags to ship their products.
Does Collection & Co. use eco-friendly shipping methods? It's unclear at this time whether or not Collection & Co. uses net-zero or negative emissions shipping methods, either domestically or internationally. We have asked them about this and are awaiting reply.
What should I do with Collection & Co. shoes when they've worn out? It's unclear what the end-of-life process is for Collection & Co. shoes. We have asked them if they currently have an end-of-life plan, or are in the process of creating one, and are awaiting reply.
Do Collection & Co. shoes ever go on sale?Yes! Their online store periodically has generous discounts (can be up to 70% off) for Black Friday, end-of-season markdowns, and other sales events.
Where can I buy Collection & Co. shoes?Collection & Co. currently works with select retailers in London, Paris, New York, San Fransisco, Amsterdam and Stockholm.
Are Collection & Co. shoes ethically made?Yes! Collection & Co. manufactures their shoes in Greece, so their workers are protected by the stringent labour laws of the European Union, which also includes strong health and safety regulations.
